July 14, 2026

Health Federation of Philadelphia CEO Natalie Levkovich appeared on the June 19 episode of the Mind, Heart, & Spirit podcast, hosted by Sosunmolu Shoyinka, a psychiatrist with national expertise in public mental health.

In a 58-minute conversation titled No Health Without Mental Health, Levkovich touches on many topics, as the episode description states: “from Philly to Ukraine, from federally qualified health centers to trauma-informed workplaces, and from public health strategy to the everyday relationships that make real change possible. Natalie brings decades of wisdom on building care that is integrated, community-rooted, and deeply human.”

“There can be no public health without mental health,” Levkovich says in the episode.

“There are so many factors and conditions that impinge on the access to well-being of a population. So public health has to take, by definition, a broad approach, and consider the conditions of housing, infrastructure, access to education, access to employment. We can’t be all things to all people, so we have to focus … in order to be effective, efficient, and outcome-oriented.”
