August 15, 2017 – The Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP) is proud to announce it has received $1,136,700 in continuation funding by the National and Community Service (CNCS). This funding will support 90 AmeriCorps positions within the National Health Corps (NHC) program.

Philadelphia – The Health Federation of Philadelphia’s (HFP) training and consultation division recently developed a new tobacco cessation training program for early childhood educators on behalf of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s (PDPH)Tobacco Policy and Control program.

Philadelphia – Kristin Walker, HFP’s coordinator of the Perinatal HIV Prevention Project, presented at the Fourth Annual Public Health Day Symposium held by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia on April 3. Over 100 people and 20 presenters attended the symposium to learn about the variety of programs offered within the Philadelphia public health community.

Philadelphia – Ann Ricksecker, HFP’s Associate CEO, was honored at the Women’s Way 40th anniversary Powerful Voice Awards on May 11th. Ricksecker was recognized for her role as a groundbreaker within the organization, which was founded in 1977.

Philadelphia – Throughout the morning a crowd gathered around the Philadelphia ACE Project table during Philadelphia’s annual Block Captain Rally, which was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on March 25, 2017. Members of the Philadelphia ACE project held raffles and giveaways to raise awareness about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and collect feedback on a new community awareness campaign.

January 16, 2017 – Terrell Johnson, one of the Health Federation of Philadelphia’s (HFP) health insurance navigator and community engagement specialists, was recently featured on a segment about men’s health for “In Focus” on PHL17. Hosted by Jennifer Lewis-Hall, the show focused on the importance of men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and preventative care.

Led by the Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP), the training recognized the impact of trauma on organizations, employees and the importance of caring for the caregivers.
