The Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP) is offering training sessions for medical and nursing providers on adult immunization guidelines and recommendations. Each training session will consist of a free one hour class delivered directly to clinical sites and providers. Continuing Medical Education (CME) and nursing credits will be available for each class.
January 16, 2017 – Terrell Johnson, one of the Health Federation of Philadelphia’s (HFP) health insurance navigator and community engagement specialists, was recently featured on a segment about men’s health for “In Focus” on PHL17. Hosted by Jennifer Lewis-Hall, the show focused on the importance of men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and preventative care.
December 27, 2016 – The Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity recently held a training session on trauma-informed practices and adversity for Philadelphia city employees. Led by the Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP), the training recognized the impact of trauma on organizations, employees and the importance of caring for the caregivers.
December 12, 2016, Philadelphia, PA – Since the 2017 open enrollment period began on November 1 for Affordable Care Act coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace, staff members from the Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP) have helped over 585 people enroll with health insurance services, through the Marketplace or Medicaid.

HFP’s Associate Executive Director, Ann Ricksecker, was honored today with a Red Ribbon Award in the Policy Maker category by the University of Pennsylvania Center for AIDS Research Consumer Advisory Board (CAB). Since 2004, the CAB has held an annual Red Ribbon Award Ceremony on December 1, World AIDS Day, to honor those in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

A recent CDC report showed that Philadelphia had the highest rate of vaccination among teen girls for the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) out of 62 metropolitan areas surveyed, with 80.3% of girls ages 13-17 having received at least one vaccination and 59.3% having received all three recommended shots.
Ann Ricksecker, Associate Executive Director of the Health Federation and Site Director for the Pennsylvania/Mid-Atlantic AIDS Education and Training Center Local Performance Site, was named Co-Chair of the 21st Annual AIDS Education Month (AEM), taking place in June 2015.
